[ It takes, just about five minutes for him to arrive at her front door. He has her motorcycle helmet waiting down on the motorcycle. He's carrying his bag with some snacks (yes, even pocky, is he being bold given the date? a little) which he always kept on him given Cordis's unpredictability and the fact that he actually left his house. And his drawing supplies.
[Two things are immediately apparent as Reimi gets the door open to greet him; one is the fact that there's a hastily discarded shirt in the middle of the living room floor that it seems someone forgot to pick up and properly put away, and two is that Reimi looks vaguely worn out the way she always does in the aftermath of Cordis, a little sluggish in comparison to her usual upbeat nature.
But she's clearly happy to see Rohan, and she lets him in immediately, all but drowning in the oversize sweatshirt with the too-long sleeves that she's chosen to wear.]
[ He blinks, watching her and steps inside. He looks around her apartment. He's so used to her demeanor, that he notices the oddities about it. Cordis must have been hard on her. It was comparatively easy for him. Barely anything beyond the additional ears and tail. It had proven an easy experience. ]
Of course.
[ There's a moment of hesitation, and because he cares enough about her to ask: ]
I finally changed. You know, for Cordis? I don't know why it took so long, but I guess I'm just a little worn out from all that.
[She covers her mouth with one sleeve-covered hand, hiding a yawn as she shuts the door behind him and latches it shut.]
I got wings. So...that made wearing shirts hard, and when they'd move, this sort of pollen-like stuff would sometimes come off. I ended up putting some in a jar because there was just so much of it, but you shouldn't touch it.
[She says, naively, to Rohan Kishibe, local spider-licker.]
[ He realizes it has nothing to do with her specifically. He'd heard of a few people when he had just arrived who hadn't really changed. It isn't so weird to him that he took her so long. It just happens to be a little different for him, too. Eventually something would happen. ]
What is the pollen like? Do you know what type of butterfly you were?
[ He never knows, maybe it's a whole new type of butterfly - one like in space. One unique to her. But pollen, that's interesting. ]
Why wouldn't you touch it?
[ Calm. Down. He's super curious about something new, though! ]
I think it was a monarch? You know, with the black tips and white spots. But they were pink, instead of that orange that monarchs usually are. And the pollen...
[She shuffles her feet, looking a little uncomfortable as a touch of bashful flush heats her cheeks.]
You know how during Cordis, sometimes people start to smell really good? And it's pheromones, or something like that? The pollen, if you breathe it or touch it, it...
[ He considers what she says and doesn't seem too bothered by the idea that it's embarrassing. Yeah, he's going to see what she'll let him get away with. He's going to try and see what she'll share. ]
Why is it -- [ Embarrassing, but as soon as he processes the information she shares, he seems to have at least a vague understanding. ] What does it do? Can I see it?
[Has there ever been a deeper or more resigned sigh in all the world? There has not.
But Rohan is Rohan, and she really can't say no to him any more than he can to her, so she wanders over and picks up one of the small jars she'd filled with the stuff, bringing it back over to him.]
Here. I don't want it, so you can do what you want with it. Just — don't open it in here, okay? If you're going to do something with it, do it at your house. With the doors locked.
You really can't just take my word for it, can you — Rohan!
[She squeaks a little as he starts to unfasten the lid of the jar, cheeks flushing, and backs up a step or two like she's afraid it's going to explode into the air like a faulty can of Axe.]
Well, how do you think I figured out what it did, huh??
[ Twists - then stops. Have you ever seen a child totally defeated and behaving himself? Because he pretty much looks like that. Like he's just been scolded and if he misbehaves he'll be punished or something.
He's. Almost. Almost pouting. ]
Fine.
[ He'll just have to listen to what she said. ]
I won't open it. For now. It can't be that bad anyway.
Alright. You convinced me. I won't mess with it right now.
[ He is 100% going to later and regret it. But that will be on him and no one else. So that's fine, right? And it's not like he'll have any company over. ]
I trust you.
[ He does, honestly. He moves his hands into his bag, resealing the jar and shoving it inside. After that, he reveals a box of pocky. ]
Since that's today. And this seemed interesting and I wanted to try it.
[ And share it - goes unspoken. It looks like some sort of mixed berry flavor that they had here. ]
[YOU BRING YOUR OWN DOOM UPON YOURSELF, ROHAN KISHIBE. Enjoy your pheromones, I guess.]
Today...? Wait, that's right! It's the eleventh day of November, isn't it!
[Wow, what is the world coming to when Rohan remembers Pocky Day and she's the one who let it slip her mind? Still, she reaches eagerly for the box almost without thinking, snatching it from his fingers so that she can look it over in examination.]
...Hang on, this isn't going to end with you trashing my nail polish again, is it?
[ He's actually super proud of himself for thinking about this, Reimi. He remembered it. ]
You don't go for the same thing twice, Reimi. So, no, I'm not going to trash your nail polish today. I was wanting to try this pocky, too. It seems to be a local favorite.
[Okay, well, it's not that strange. It's just the nice kind of strange. Rohan wanted to see her and to eat pocky together. That's...pretty great, actually.]
Well, then, sure! Berry flavor sounds like it might be pretty good, actually...I got pretty tired of chocolate after a while.
[Briskly, she pops open the package and pulls out one of the sticks, examining it before holding it up to his mouth for him.]
[ He brought it all the way here and made the effort to remember 11/11. Of course he wants to try it. There's even a little huff that follows her question, as if he's prepared to deny her any second. ]
I brought it up.
[ It was his idea! ]
Oh yeah, all you had was chocolate.
[ It hadn't occurred to him. He just wanted to try something new. When offered the pocky, he - so very awkwardly - accepts it. ]
[ What? Who says he can't sass a little. Here he is. But, she's right. He doesn't care much for games people play with pocky. This was a fair medium for him. This was as close as they get. Him bringing it to her. ]
I don't really care for the games or fortune telling, either. But, I do like to try new foods.
[ Hm - he considers. ]
And you like both of those things. Or at least I assume you like the games.
text; this morning - he's stupid
Well.
Can I come over?
here comes the dumbfuckery

[ Twenty questions time. He almost doesn't even notice her resigned sigh like she's getting ready to scold him for making a dumb choice. ]

no subject
I think I like it more than chocolate, to be honest.
[ He swallows the bite. ]
Right out of my mouth, Reimi? You wouldn't.

[She rolls her eyes at him, fishing out another stick for herself before offering him the box.]
