[ He's delighted to see her, so when she speaks, he closes his book and drops it on the end table behind his head where he's somehow ended up stretched out on the couch. He moves a hand up to coax the cat off of him, and he seems to decide it was his idea to get up at the moment. Whether his choose to move is because he thinks Reimi's arrival is a promise of food and treats, or because he thinks Rohan is ready to move could be left up to determination. He decides to make his way to the kitchen regardless. He picks up his paws in a prance towards the tree and hops his way up to the top to observe. Cat having moved, Rohan gets up and glances around the room, then back towards Reimi. ]

I felt like redecorating a little.

[ It was good old impulsive Cordis, apparently. ]

If you hate it, I can fix it tomorrow.

[ He'll probably feel antsy enough to do it, anyway. It's hard to sit down and focus during Cordis, so he's learned to just indulge. ]

What did you shop for today?

Aww, look at him! Hey, wait a minute — and you got him a collar! Aw, Rohan!

[She sets her bags down, near the door but out of the way of any sort of walking path, and kicks off her shoes before walking into the living room properly to say hello to boyfriend and cat alike.]

Mm, just clothes. Sometimes I feel bad about that, but...well, I'm still just making up for lost time, right? And I can have a closet full of nice things if I want to.

[ He's happy to see her. Not just because of the attention he enjoys more and more during Cordis, but because it's Reimi. There's a delighted sway of his tail, and he moves in closer to her - close enough to move a hand up to rest on her cheek. He left her alone all day, so - ]

I missed you.

[ But, the mood immediately shifts to something a little more playful. ]

Don't feel bad about getting yourself clothes.

[ He buys himself...a lot. He'd be the last person to care about it. ]

And if you need more space, we can get creative.

[ Oh -- ]

And yeah. He has a collar now. And a name that isn't Stinky.

Do you...want a fashion show?

[She's actually steeled for him to say no; it wouldn't surprise her if he did. What does Rohan care about a bunch of different outfits she'd bought at the store, anyway?

On the other hand...he might just as easily say something about character inspiration and get creative with it, so...maybe there's hope.]

I could go try some of my favorites on, and show you.

[Not that she's eager to move away from the hand on her cheek. Quite the contrary; she's leaning into it.]

But first! Tell me his name!

[ He was prepared to say no, to be honest. Predictably, that's his initial thought, but he manages to stop himself from his first response and pauses. He looks like he's considering it, thoughtful as he were. If he were only thinking about himself - he'd still say no, but he... doesn't do that with her. Her that that he could spin it into using her as a model is exactly right.

His hand doesn't move, just relaxes there against her cheek, thumb moving without thought and then he blinks. Oh - name, right. He got lost in thought for a moment. ]

Fuku.

[ ...And, he follows it up quickly. ]

I picked something he'd answer to as well as he did Stinky. I went through a few names. No, I didn't use Heaven's Door to figure out what he'd like.

[ The cat's opinion matters. ]

Fashion show. I'd like to see some of the things you picked out. You're one of my models, after all.

[WELL WELL WELL ISN'T THAT A CHANGE OF PACE]

Wait — really?

[And apparently it worked, too, because all of a sudden there's a renewed spring in Reimi's figurative step, and hope dazzling in her eyes.]

I remembered what you said, about colors you thought looked good on me. I really tried to take it to heart, you know?

[And he gave the cat a cute name, too! Astonishing.]

Aw, you named him "good luck"?

Yes. I mean it.

[ Said firmly, so she knows that he means it. Of course he meant that he could see what she picked out. And that she noted what colors he thought looked good on her -- ]

Did you?

[ Of course she did. That's not that surprising. Reimi was good at listening, paying attention to things going on around her. She cared what he thought of her, and he knew it. He never imagined he'd have an easy time considering someone else's feelings, but with Reimi, it is easy. So easy. He cares about how she feels about things. And even if that starts and ends with her, that's all he cares about. ]

I did, because he's lucky he got found by you.

Well, sure! I want to look good. And you've got a much better eye for color than I do, so I'd be stupid not to take your advice.

[She raises up onto her toes, though, pressing another light kiss to his cheek.]

And thank you for finding a better name for the cat. I really like it.

Nothing beats my eye for color.

[ He accepts the light kiss to his cheek easily. It's so - natural for him. And he appreciates that it is easy to accept her affection. He rests his hand on the small of her back, so he can hold her in close for only a moment. He did miss her, after all. It's hard for him to not pester her all the time, all day. Especially because he's more inclined to get bored easily without someone around to entertain him or keep him busy. Or, he'll find himself getting in trouble. ]

Well, you do look good in most colors, as it is.

[ It's said so easily, so simply - that it seems like a fact when he says it. As if it's not intended to come across as a compliment or flattery. It just is. ]

And most things, actually. So you'll look good. But you know I'm always glad to share my favorites.

[He is, perhaps, one of the only people in the world who can get away with that so effortlessly — a light touch, lower than her scars. It makes her draw in a slight breath, but in a contented way, and for all that she may want to show off her purchases, she wants to stay right where she is even more.]

Yeah...

[She melts a little, smiling at him.]

...So what made you decide to redecorate the whole house, anyway?

[ Since there's no attempt to move, Rohan doesn't either. For now he'll settle like this and enjoy it for as long as he can. It's always like this, he finds. While with anyone else he'd be out of that bubble as fast as possible, with Reimi he lingers in close. And maybe ages ago he would have mad excuses that he needed to do this for Chroma... ]

I got bored and decided it was time to change something.

[ That simple, really. Just -- an I wanted to really. As he does. ]

I wanted to see how it would look. It's pretty lucky it worked out. I might be able to fit a larger TV in here now, too.

[ And there it is. Good for movies. That's his reasoning. ]

Well, I like it. And...you know, living here with you — it still feels more like your house than mine, I guess. If that makes sense? I don't know if it does.

[She shrugs a little, nibbling her lip.]

It's not like I'm saying I feel like I'm just a guest, or anything like that. But...you know what I mean, right?

[ He really wants her to feel like this place is as much hers as his, because to him - it is. There's probably things he can do, but he's not sure what to do or how to do it. So -- he'll get there. In time. ]

I guess that's natural, considering I picked out this place and nearly everything in it. You know I consider this place just as much yours as mine, right?

Oh, yeah! Yeah, I mean...I don't know. I never really know how to say it the right way.

[She scuffs her toe on the ground a little, hesitant.]

It's not a bad thing. The cafe is different, because I've never had a cafe before, but — when it comes to a house, I guess...I'm just used to the houses I live in belonging to someone else, you know? My parents' house, or your house. Like...houses are just things that belong to other people. Does that make sense?

[ There's a moment where he's quiet, and just standing there. Then, immediately, his arms tighten around her, pulling her in close. His hand moves up through her hair and his face is warm. ]

Reimi-chan.

[ He gets it as much as he could. The Chroma feels nice, and it's not just that. He knows the difference in getting it here with her, than if he were to be close to others. ]

Maybe we'll do something about that, then. Help me pick out some new things for here.

[She leans on him then, because it's easy, and because she likes the way he says her name, and because it feels safe. Because she knows why he's so desperate to convince her that this is her home, too, and because she's never doubted for an instant that it is.

She leans into him because it's Rohan, and because she can.

And it has nothing to do with who they once were, or what he owes or she remembers, and it's not tangled up in memories that only one of them can recall or balances idling through the years just waiting to be repaid.

He's Rohan, and she can. That's all, and that's enough.]

I never really got to grow up. Not like you did.

[It's one of those confessions that it feels cathartic to say. Where the only relief she needs is just to have said it at all.]

I'd like that. Next time you redecorate, I'll help too.
