Actually...would you mind if I brought him home with us? Just for tonight, I think he's okay without a checkup but I want to keep an eye on him...

He can come home with us. If you need me to keep an eye on him during the day tomorrow, I planned to stay in and draw most of the day anyway.

I have some chicken in the fridge he can have if he needs an extended stay...

Awww, Rohan! That'd be really great. It's that white fluffy one who likes you so much, too, so I'm sure he'd be happy to be around you...

Actually, I think you're one of the only people he's warmed up to, except maybe Noctis.

Oh. I like him. He's pretty easy going with me. So he can hang out as long as he wants. As long as Arnold doesn't have any objections. I'm guessing he's good with cats and you already knew that?

Arnold's pretty good about being nice to the cats so long as he has some space of his own. I can let him relax in my room and the cat will probably want to follow to yours, so...I think it should be all right.

Yeah, that seems the most likely. I'm going to head out, but before I do - do we need a carrier or anything to bring him home? I can probably find something to use, since it's not like... a long trip or anything.

I keep one here at the cafe! Though actually, could you bring a blanket to help keep out some of the cold? We can drape it over the carrier and it'll keep out the wind, too.

[ Reimi will most definitely hear Rohan before she sees him, but only a few short moments before he pulls up - he steps through the front door of the cafe, a neatly folded blanket in hands. He considers the motorcycle isn't necessarily ideal for bringing a cat home but if they can sort it out, they will. But if he has to come back and get it, he will. Cat's safety first. ]

[There's no mistaking a motorcycle when it comes rumbling up the street, especially not when you're already anticipating one's arrival. Fortunately, Heaven's Purr the Stinky Bastard Man™ is being slightly less of a Stinky Bastard Man™ at the moment, and appears content to sit quietly and let Reimi pet him even in the presence of the cat carrier, which is sitting nearby and close at hand for Rohan's arrival.]

Hey! You made it. Hi, Rohan!

[Almost charmingly, Heaven's Purr perks up his ears, alerted to the presence of the singular person he likes in the whole of the cafe, and gets up with a mighty back-arching stretch before trotting over to greet Rohan.

He is, in fact, limping slightly as he goes, and stops every so often to lift his paw and lick at it before meandering on.]

[ Rohan takes a couple of steps in and kneels, offering his hand to the Stinky Bastard Man who likes him. He gets what it's like, little guy, to only like a small number of people and to not have them around. So, when he can reach him, Rohan gives him the slightest scratch behind his ears. He notes the limp, and decides that he'll get a better look at the paw later. ]

Reimi, of course I did.

[ Yeah, even if his tone necessarily doesn't suggest it, he's always happy to see her himself. ]

Hopefully it's no big deal for this guy. [ Pets, definitely talking to the cat: ] Did you jump off something you shouldn't have? [ Glances towards Reimi as he scoops up the cat. ]

Hopefully just a couple of days is all he needs. [ He seems to like Rohan holding him; however, he's all fidgety. ]

I'm pretty sure he did. Yes he did! He's always getting into trouble, uh-huh!

[Given the gentle sing-song in her words, she is absolutely talking to the cat at this point. But luckily, Rohan's able to get him without too much trouble, which makes things easier. She gets up, retrieving the cat carrier and bringing it over closer to Rohan, keeping her body between it and him to help obscure it from the cat's line of sight.]

Do you think you can help me get him in? Just for the ride, you know.

[ Rohan's giving the little jerk scratches behind his ears, because he's learned that he likes it, and it's easy to distract him from the incoming event of being placed in a carrier. Regardless as to how long it would be, he is sure this guy would make a very dramatic scene of it. Cats. He glances towards Reimi. Of course he assumed the moment that the cat trotted over to him that he'd be an active participant in wrangling him. ]

Yeah.

[ Probably. He holds the cat out in front of him, he just seems grumpy to Rohan. But cats often looked a little grumpy to Rohan. Or maybe it was just this one. He looks the cat in the eyes: ]

Ten minutes or less. It's much less than if we were walking home.

[ Rohan is clearly trying to negotiate with a cat. ]

Well, no reason to delay with him. I'd get suspicious personally that something I wouldn't like would be happening at this rate.

Aww, Rohan! You guys have really taken to each other, huh? That's awfully cute...

[She says, as she moves into position to get the cat carrier ready.]

Okay. I'll turn the carrier so the gate is facing up, so all you have to do is put him down into it, okay? Then we'll carefully turn it back horizontal again. On three, yeah? One...two...three!

[And out it comes!]

[ Rohan attempts, if only for a brief moment, to act tsundere about the cat. Of all things. A cat whoo he totally doesn't adore and hasn't picked out that he's the favorite of Rohan's. ]

I guess so.

[ Hmmph. But at the count down, he lifts the cat up, and plop down. There's a moment of shuffling quickly, and he can already hear the disgruntled sounds of a cat coming from inside the carrier. ]

I know you're mad now, but next time don't get into something you shouldn't. Curiosity can prove dangerous.

[ As if he has room to talk. ]

Do you need me to grab anything else here before we head home? There's um - food there, too.

You keep cat food at your apartment now?

[She may still have cats and work on the brain, and thus missed the implication that the food in question may not, in fact, be specifically for the cats, as opposed to for human beings.]

Um...I think that's everything. Let me just do one last walkaround and then I'll lock up on our way out, okay?

...I don't. Though I do have things he can eat. I meant food for you.

[ Oh - Oops. It's fine, it's fine. She'll realize that he made it when they get back home, but for now he'll just leave that part up in the air. He doesn't want to make a big deal of it. ]

Well, you and I. He's a bit of a surprise tonight, so no cat food, but if he needs an extended stay, I'll get him some. Though I doubt a cat would complain about getting something like that daily.

[ But...he'll get fat. ]

[Spoken like a man who has not yet realized his imminent Cat Owner Destiny. But the clarification works, and Reimi brightens immediately.]

Aw! That sounds great, Rohan! Thank you...

[It's almost suspicious how unexpectedly nice of a surprise this is. Almost.]

Picking me up from work and having dinner ready...gosh, I must be pretty special or something.

[ He has a sneaking suspicion this cat may never leave, but that's fine. Rohan won't mind the company. He hopes it works out, to be honest. But if not, he knows the guy has a place here. When Reimi says that though - it's not wrong. She is, because he's never actually cared about someone else's happiness. ]

Of course you are.

[ He says it without really thinking about it or trying to stop himself. Like it's simply a fact. That easy. Reimi is special. ]

I mean, not anyone can get me to get them dinner and gets rides on my motorcycle. I have to really like you for that.

Let's go home, okay?

[The thing is, he's probably teasing, but maybe he's not. And it's the "maybe he's not" that gets her to blush faintly, hiding a smile behind a bitten lip as she busies herself with making sure that the shop is ready to be closed for the day.

Once finished, she returns and picks up the cat carrier, wrapping the blanket around it to help keep in some of the warm cafe air before they venture out into the cold.]

Yeah. I'm ready.
