Reimi, I can't be anything other than an artist-type. They're not always popular in stories, but sometimes you need them to win or provide new insight, so they're still important.

Though they're kind of like sidekicks, and I don't want to be a sidekick.

Not true. Pretty careless of you, Mister World-Famous Mangaka, to overlook a role that's so easy to spot.

You're not a sidekick, you're the rival type. Not exactly the hero; you're more independent, and you don't grow in the same way that the hero type does. But you're both after the same goal, and you're completely necessary to the story. You're the one who's relentless even in the hero's moments of weakness, and you're the one who's ruthless enough to do the things that the hero can't.

Besides, in the end, you're the one who rescued the damsel. That's not something the sidekick role can do, is it?
