[ Rohan shows up dressed nicer than he usually does. Black pants, boots, a white button up with a pink tie and a pink headband. He has a coat on over everything, and unlike he usually would - he's not carrying anything extra like his portfolio or camera.

And, he knocks, exactly thirty minutes from when he said he'd be there because he wouldn't dare be late.

He wanted them to go out and enjoy the New Year. Even if he wasn't much for crowds or spending time at any sort of party, but he was going to do his best.

It might be pretty fun, too. A lot of different people would be out and about. ]

[Fortunately, Reimi did a fair amount of shopping while they were off in Nevei, and likewise once they got back. She's not quite bold enough to resort to The Backless Pink Dress™, especially since she doesn't know precisely where Rohan plans to lead them, and it might be too cold for something that bares so much skin like that.

Luckily, though, she's got other options, and so when Rohan comes to get her, she's ready in a cute dress paired with glittery black leggings and her pink ankle boots — warm enough to suffice, reminiscent of home, and unintentionally color-coordinated with Rohan. She's even got red lipstick to match.]

Hey!

[She pulls open the door, making way to let him in while Arnold comes trotting over to say hello, faithful as always.]

Oh, wow, you look so nice!

[ Rohan didn't necessarily expect that she'd so effectively match him, especially unintentionally (though his pick of pink is totally intentional). He looks her over and then steps inside, reaching a hand to greet Arnold, as he usually would. He's used to the routine by now with him. And Rohan probably doesn't help by occasionally keeping a treat or two on him. He didn't have one with him tonight (sorry Arnold), but he gives him a couple scratches behind his ears before returning his attention to her.

A compliment. Oh.

Attention on her he shifts, trying to stay as cool as possible (he's, of course, not even a little cool). She looks cute, of course.

That's not unusual, though. He looks like he's considering the right words to say. If he says she just looks cute, he thinks it might sound insincere. He's said it more than once about her before. So - what comes out is: ]

And you say I make you look pretty in drawings.

[ F l i r t i n g? At least a little. And intentionally, even.
That sounds cool, right? He probably thought about different things he'd say to her when he saw her on the way over. ]

[If it's a reaction he's hoping for, Rohan certainly gets one; there's a second or two of delay where she hears what he says but doesn't really process the implications, not until the sound of it goes click in her mind, and it occurs to her what it is he's just expressed about her.

That's when it all hits — the slightly widened eyes, the immediate blush flaring up in her cheeks, turning them almost as red as her dress.]

O-Oh...

[hey, what the fuck? WHAT THE FUCK.]

I-I just...you know! I wanted something special...because we're going out...and because we'll be together and everything...

[ He appreciates the reaction, it had above and beyond the desired effect. Not that he's insincere, either. It's just nice to know that that sort of compliment was right and good. Plus, her blush was cute.

And he caused it. ]

There's a few places that have some parties going on for New Year. I figured we'd go to one or two.

[ Socializing? At a few places? Yep. He might be there to people watch and spend some time with her more than anything. He would probably prefer to be home drying, but his major projects for the year are done. And while this isn't quite like traveling and seeing the sights, the people here were interesting enough to almost think of it like that. ]

If that's okay with you.

I almost can't believe you're the one suggesting it...

[In fairness, it is a little surprising that Rohan's not just suggesting but actively advocating for going out on the town, but she's smart enough not to push her luck when she's already pretty confident she knows exactly the reason why. It's sweet of him, and so she hurries to go find her coat and come back again.

As she does, though, something suddenly occurs to her, and with a soft yelp she darts off into her bedroom and shuffles around within before she comes hurrying back.]

Oh! I almost forgot. Look what I got for Christmas, because of that present that Firi left!

[She holds up a pendant on a gold chain, offering it hopefully to him.]

I really want to wear it tonight...can you help me fasten it on?

[ He knows why she is surprised. He never would have suggested this, but he's trying. It's a slow shift, and it's still a work in progress. And, well, he doesn't think it'll be so bad. At least it will be interesting, right? Material for manga, he always needs that, after all. He doesn't answer or respond to her comment, though. No need to. He doesn't know that she wants him to respond to it, either. ]

Alright.

[ He eyes the pendant for a moment, before shifting to move behind her. He accepted the chain and focuses intently on the task before him.

Well, this was something new. He has to stop himself from saying 'hey, this is good inspiration'. Yeah, a bad idea when you're going to hang out with someone you like spending time with for real rather than someone you're just doing it for the sake of it. Once it's locked into place, he steps to her side, a hand on her back and he glances towards her. ]

Ready, then?

Hey, thanks...I think it really fits the look, don't you?

[She turns toward him, lifting her chin to show off her throat and how the pendant hangs. It feels better to have it on, she muses, before getting distracted by the feeling of Rohan's hand settling on her back.

Her scars are still there, underneath the layers of fabric. They'd still be there if she'd worn that pink dress she'd coveted so much. They're just there, and always will be. They're a part of her.

She wonders what it'd feel like, if the fabric weren't in the way.]

Yeah...I'm ready. Let's go.

It matches well. It's from home, then?

[ He wonders if he ever saw it when he was small, but he wouldn't dare ask. He's trying not to do that. Not let himself think of her in relation as to his hero at home. Not let himself think that she sees him as a child. So, he doesn't ask because he doesn't want to know anymore. It doesn't matter. That's what they talked about, right? Knowing each other here and now. Creating memories here.

And it's not like it was memories he needed from home, anyway. The him here likes to be around her here. He feels safe and comfortable. It's unusual. It's weird, and it's probably why he seeks her out. She lets him act the way that he does freely. ]

Alright. Let's go.

[ A gentle nudge forward, so he can walk with her towards the door. He will wait for her to lock the place up before they make their way towards the parties he knows of. They need to get to level one, but it's not a big deal. Easy. But he didn't bring his motorcycle here, he didn't know if it would be practical in the nice clothing. ]

Yeah...it was Mom's. My grandma's, actually, but handed down to my mom.

[She's grateful for the opportunity to fiddle with the locks on her door as she mentions it, giving her something to do with her hands while she thinks. When everything is secured, she turns to Rohan, looking him thoughtfully over a minute before stepping into his space and tucking herself against his side, under his arm.]

I've always liked stuff like that. Not just jewelry to wear jewelry, but when it means something, you know? I like it when there's a memory attached.

[ Something so sentimental and meaningful. He's... happy for her. She seems glad to have it, at least. And that's what matters, right? She doesn't hesitate, it feels like, when she tucks in next to him. And it's not strange to him to have her that close, anyway. They've been in close proximity many times before. He's held her close when they needed Chroma. Was this the same?

He's... not sure yet. He's still sorting it out. ]

I get it. [ He did. Although, he really liked a lot of the stuff he had at home (mostly collectibles), he had nothing that he was sentimental about. He had nothing that reminded him of family or friends there. He starts walking, not removing his arm from her, keeping her tucked in close. ]

Oh, so Reimi-chan is a sentimental type?

[ He's not teasing, and he doesn't even really sound like it, either. ]

I might have been able to guess that.

[ Maybe? ]

I bet there's a lot of things you could guess about me.

[She leans into him a little, bumping her shoulder against him while they walk, following his lead. He's the one who scouted this out in advance, and who knows where they're going, after all.

Which is kind of nice, really. It's relaxing to just put herself in the hands of someone she trusts and go along with the ride for a good time.]

You're pretty good at reading people, even without your Stand helping. I'm sure you could, if you really wanted to.

[ She's probably right. There's a lot he could guess, if he were trying to. Even without using Heaven's Door. It would be so easy to cheat and use it so often. But, this place doesn't allow for him to just use it anytime, all the time, whenever he wants. At least not without having to earn it. So he has to go back to doing things his own way.

Still, he's finding it isn't as hard to learn about her as he may have thought it would have been. He doesn't get to know people very often, and frequently he finds it hard to want to really do it. In a way, it almost felt like Reimi, who wanted him around - was good way for him to test the waters. She was patient and good to him. And if he made a mistake, she was learning to tell him so, too.

It worked. ]

Sure, if I wanted to. [ Glance, tilts his head a little, then looks ahead as he continues walking. ] Probably. I prefer to make up stories about them, though.
